South America 2010

I have only just now realised why the long flights are shown on the Everlater map as curves. The flight paths follow the geodesic, this is the shortest route between two points around the sphere of our earth. But it becomes a curve when represented on a flat map. This sounds obvious now I write it down, but I really did not know it before!
