Every year we all ski from our cabin up Blue Ridge. From the cabin, the ski is 4.8 miles to the top, covering just about 2,000 vertical feet. Nate, Dave and I did it three times this year! The snow was incredible. The best in years. Dave even proclaimed it to be the "Best Blue Ridge Ever." As usual, after summiting on the trail, we "tree bashed" our own trail down. The snow was soft, fresh, glistening and most importantly completely unskied and DEEP. I tracked the final days summit on my Garmin, you can see the route and details at the following link: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/65285803. I recommend viewing it in Google Earth as well. Thanks Blue Ridge, for yet another spectacular year!
Down the road, just before the snowy woods, sits the Mountain Star cabin. Our favorite at Snow Mountain ranch. Again this year, we spent our three days, shoulder to shoulder in this historic cabin. Amazing meals were cooked, frosty beers drank, fires lit, and jokes shared. Again an amazing experience.
